Dimapur: Tseminyu District Administration has clamped prohibitory measures under Section 144 CrPC in Tseminyu Town Council from April 19 onwards.
The order, issued by the sub-divisional magistrate, stated that assembly or movement of five or more persons within all wards of Tseminyu Town Council would be prohibited from 6 am onwards.
Carrying sticks, stones, firearms and /or weapons of any description or objects which can be used as offensive weapons have also been prohibited, according to the order.
Meanwhile, all administrative officers and DBs have been directed to perform magistrate duties to ensure compliance of instant order in their respective jurisdiction without fail.
The order stated that a “situation” had arisen in Tseminyu town where “there is likelihood of serious breach of peace, disturbance to public tranquility and danger to human lives and properties as evident by some groups of individuals taking law into their own hands”.
“The Sr. Superintendent of Police, Tseminyu district is enjoined upon to implement this order in letter and spirit,” the order stated.
