DIMAPUR — The Kohima Village Council (KVC) has reaffirmed to uphold its earlier resolution passed on March 15, 2023, pertaining to the urban local bodies (ULB) elections, while it also resolved to support and uphold the resolution of Angami Public Organisation (APO) adopted in its executive meeting held on April 11.

The reaffirmation was made during its emergency meeting held on April 14 at VDB Hall after thorough deliberation on matter regarding the ULB elections to the three municipal and town councils in Nagaland.

The KVC, in a joint press release issued by its vice chairman, Zeneizo Rutsa, and the general secretary, Vizonyu Kelio, has acknowledged the matured wisdom and decision taken by the present state government in postponing the proposed ULB elections in Nagaland and repealing the Nagaland Municipal Act (NMA) 2001 in toto.

KVC further expressed gratitude to the state government under the leadership of Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, for giving attention and keeping the voice and aspiration of the Naga people on top priority.
