Lok Sabha MP calls for effective implementation of CSS

DIMAPUR — Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, Tokheho Yepthomi, has urged various departments to coordinate with one another to effectively implement centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) in the right direction.

“This will ensure implementation of the schemes in each village,” the MP said in his address during the District Development Coordination Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held at DC’s conference hall in Chümoukedima on Friday, a DIPR report stated.

Yepthomi, who is also the DISHA chairperson, said in the past many CSS all over the states could not be completed as per the schedule and also failed to give the details of work distribution.

“This has led to a change in policy whereby until and unless the first installment completion report is given, the central government will not give the subsequent installment,” he said.

He pointed out that from 2023 onwards the central government will not allow any state to keep money in their civil deposit. He informed that whatever is due to the department, the state Finance department had to release to the department and the department has to disclose the bill.

Yepthomi, therefore, urged the respective departments who are yet to submit their report to work in an efficient and time-bound manner.

The coordination meeting, chaired by ADC of Medziphema, was held to ensure better coordination with the elected representatives and officials from the district.

Report further stated that the members deliberated on developmental issues in the Chümoukedima district. It added that various departments presented their activities and achievements on papers.
