Nagaland legislators condole demise of former minister Yollow Konyak

DIMAPUR: Legislatures cutting across party lines have condoled the demise of former minister, YM Yollow, who passed away on Wednesday in New Delhi after a prolonged illness.

ENLU: The Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union (ENLU) has described YM Yollow Konyak as a kind hearted and dynamic leader, who always worked for the welfare of the society passionately and executed his assignments diligently. It also described him as a humble and dedicated government servant who served the government in various capacities with utmost sincerity and also served in various social organisations during his young days for the welfare of the Konyak community.

It said that his passing away was a loss for the Konyak community in particular and Nagas in general. ENLU, in a press release issued by its convenor, P Paiwang Konyak, has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.

Imkong L Imchen: Advisor of IPR and Soil and Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen has recalled Yollow Konyak as an intelligent, versatile young and dynamic public servant.

In his condolence message, Imchen stated that human destiny becomes cruel at times and so as to his ‘beloved brother, Yollow’ being taken away. He added that everyone would cherish his illustrious career in public life in the days to come.

Imchen further conveyed condolence to the members of the bereaved family members.

Kuzholuzo Nienu: Leader of NPF legislature party, Kuzholuzo Nienu, has described Yollow as a dedicated leader who sacrificed and gave his best for the Naga people.

Nienu said that his demise was a loss for the Nagas and the vacuum created would be difficult to fill. He further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed the departed soul rest in peace.

Chingang Konyak: Advisor of Geology and Mining and DUDA, W Chingang Konyak, has described YM Yollow Konyak as a diligent public servant, eminent public leader and an outstanding legislator who represented 42 Wakching assembly constituency from 2013-2023.

He lamented that in his death, Nagaland state has lost a capable leader and left a huge vacuum which would be hard to fill. He added that his contributions to the social-economic and political sphere of the constituency would be fondly remembered by the people. He further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.

Moatoshi: Advisor of Labour, Employment and Skill Development and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer, has eulogised YM Yollow Konyak as a leader who envisioned great things for eastern Nagaland and Nagas in general. He lamented that the void created by him would be felt hard by all.

He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed the departed soul rest in peace.
