Yuva Utsav conducted at Dimapur Government College

DIMAPUR: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Dimapur, in collaboration with the district administration and Dimapur Government College (DGC), conducted Yuva Utsav at DGC on March 15 the theme ‘National unity and solidarity.’

Yuva Utsav, a nationwide programme of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, government of India, was conducted as part of 180 programme districts across the country, informed NYKS Nagaland in an update.

The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, was the inaugural guest, while the welcome address was delivered by Prof. Sanjay Sharma, principal of DGC.

It stated that around 300 youth participated in the programme.

Various competitions and talent hunts including photography, painting, poetry, and cultural festival were conducted, while exhibitions and awareness campaigns were also part of the programme.

It informed that Nagaland State AIDS Control Cell also presented an introductory message on HIV/AIDS.

It stated that the winners of the various events who were given cash award and certificates.

In the declamation talent hunt, K Chunchun of Dimapur Government College secured the first position, while Chungki S Konyak of Dimapur Government College and Nyiamshaka of Eastern Christian College secured the second and third positions respectively.

In the photography talent hunt, Almina Bebe of Unity College secured the first position, while Aloinoli I Sumi of Dimapur Government College and Tanug Sharma of Livingstone Foundation International secured the second and third positions respectively.

In the young writers’ talent hunt (poem), Imlijungla Aier of Livingstone Foundation International secured the first position, while Tajungmenla Lonchar of Dimapur Government College and Akinoli Yeptho of Unity College secured the second and third positions respectively.

In the young artists’ talent hunt (painting), Arhonthung T Yanthan of Dimapur Government College secured the first position, while Ayushi Bhdwal of Livingstone Foundation International and Renuka Debnath of Unity College secured the second and third positions respectively.

In the cultural festival, Dimapur Government College secured the first position, while Unity College secured the second position.

As per the design of the programme, it informed that all the winners would be invited for the state-level and national-level competitions.
