2 Naga musicians in fray for Radio City Freedom Awards Season 7

Two famous Naga musicians – Alobo Naga and Moko Koza – are on the top list with other musicians of the country for the seventh edition of Radio City Freedom Awards (RCFA), online voting of which is under way.

Both the artistes, who are already household names in Nagaland state, have also got their fair share of fame even at national and international arena, are in fray for the prestigious award.

This season Alobo’s song “I’m yours” is rooting for the top spot in Best Rock Artist along with others like The Yellow Diary – “Roz Roz”, Naayalak’s “Zakir”, Idanim’s “Dahr”, Last Minute India’s “Kagaz Ki Naav”, Junkyard Groove’s “Fable”, Mysore Xpress’s “Starlight”, AKOG’s “Monkey (In the middle), Riko Lama’s “Awaz” and Anand Bhaskar Collective’s “Ufag”.

While for Moko Koza, his song “Naga Manu” is in race for the top spot in Best Hip Hop/ Rap Artist category. Other artistes in competition are Fotty Seven for “Banjo”, Awessum Frankie for “Mauj Hai Bhai”, Samir Mohanty’s “Indian sound”, Anohnymouss’s “Thodaravo”, Vivieck Rajagopalan’s “K Rap”, Venkatesh Vuppala’s “Modati Chupe”, Moksh’s “Bharat” and Brodha V for “All Divine”.

There are also other categories for this edition – Best Pop Artist, Best Folk Fusion Artist, Best Metal Artist, Best Electronica Artist, Best Indie Collaboration and Best Music Video.

The jury for the season are Atul Churamani, Managing Director, Turnkey Music & Publishing Pvt. Ltd; Vijay Basrur, Founder of OKLISTEN; Aishwarya Natarajan, Founder Indianuance; Heena Kriplani, Head of TuneCore, India, TuneCore/ Believe; Anurag Tagat, Music Journalist and Narendra Kusnur, Music Journalist and online show host.

The seventh edition of Radio City Freedom Awards was launched on February 28, 2023, and the award ceremony is slated for March 28, 2023, via a virtual platform.

It may be mentioned that Radio City Freedom Awards was started in 2013 as the first independent music awards of the country. Radio City Freedom Awards is a platform synonymous with magnifying and revolutionising independent music.

Online voting is underway since March 12 and will be closed on March 21, supporters and fans can now log in to www.radiocity.in to vote.
