In a bid to strengthen and bring more development to the village, a day-long workshop was organized at Khuzama village on August 28 by the Village Adoption Committee (VAC) of DPDB Kohima.It may be recalled that as part of its year long activities 2014-15, Kohima DPDB has selected four villages and two wards- one in each Assembly Constituency to be adopted by a committee consisting departmental heads with the concerned elected members as advisors. The implementation program was held on the theme “Together we progress”.
On the occasion, short speeches on departmental activities were delivered by EE Power Rükongutuo, DYRO Khriekethou Kense, HG district commandant Mulai Lamniah, GM Industries Temjen Jamir, BDO Khovi, and DHO Qhutovi Wotsa. Exhortations were given by PS to MLA SA-II Voto Neikha and VCC Khuzama Mehozol Hibo.
In the afternoon session, the committee gave away inverters to the students body for lighting purposes during night tuition classes, sports equipments to the youth organization, a steel almirah to the council office. Plant saplings and vegetable seeds of various kinds, CGI sheets to all the 11 clams of the village, criteria of the beneficiary being a handpicked deprived individual/ family from amongst the poorest of the poor in the clan.
Mock drills on basic life saving techniques and disaster management were also demonstrated to the villagers.
