Phek Government College (PGC) held its 40th annual sports meet from February 16 to the 18th on the theme ‘Invigorating unity.’
An update from the college informed that the inaugural programme was attended by Razoukhruyi Dozo, president of Phek Area Sports Association, as the special guest. The inaugural session was chaired by Ranjan Sha and welcome address was delivered by VinituonoKrose, assistant professor and convenor of sports committee, and the keynote address was delivered the college’s principal, Dr. T Tiakaba Jamir.
It stated that the three-day events included football, volleyball, wrestling, chess, table tennis and many other track and field events. The students were divided into four teams namely Phoenix, Panther, Falcon and Firefox, in which Falcon team emerged as the overall champion.
