Nagaland Election 2023: PM Modi, Shah to address poll rallies in state
Ahead of the general election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly slated for February 27, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are scheduled to address election rallies in Dimapur next week.
Reliable sources informed Eastern Mirror that Modi will address a political rally of the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) — Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) — at Agri Expo, Dimapur, on February 24.
The Prime Minister will be joined by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio during the rally.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also scheduled to address a road show on February 20 at Clock Tower, Dimapur, along with the chief minister of Nagaland.
Shah is also likely to tour eastern Nagaland areas and hold rallies ahead of the poll.
A host of Union ministers and other central leaders are also expected to campaign in the state.
It may be mentioned that the NDPP and BJP forged an alliance in the 2018 state general election and went on to form the government after the former won 18 seats and the latter 12.
The allies are continuing the pre-poll alliance with a 40:20 (NDPP:BJP) seat-sharing deal in the upcoming state assembly election as well.
