Dimapur, Jan. 14 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi extended Sökrönye greetings to the Chakhesang community and the people of Nagaland on Saturday.
He shared that Sökrönye is a harvest festival and the essence of this festival is the ‘sanctification of the Chakhesang community’.
“Rituals involved are meant to purify the souls, and the children also learn the rich spiritual and cultural practices.
“On this significant occasion, I wish you all a safe and a joyous festival. God bless Nagaland,” he conveyed.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also extended greetings to the Chakhesang community on the occasion of Sökrönye.
“May the festival of sanctification bring blessings of fruitfulness in every endeavour. I wish you all a happy Sükrünye and a prosperous year ahead,” he shared.
