Dimapur, Jan. 13 (EMN): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) apprehended six Bangladeshis from Alipurduar Jn. Railway Station while conducting a regular check on January 11.
While conducting a drive against contraband items and anti-social elements, the RPF personnel detected six persons (four females and two males) of doubtful nationality, NFR in an update informed.
On interrogation they could not produce any valid documents and later confessed that they entered India illegally from Bangladesh, it stated.
During the search, fake Indian Aadhaar cards, two mobile phones and two railway e-tickets of Train no. 13174 (Kanchanjunga Express) ex- Agartala to Sealdah boarding at Agartala were recovered from them.
The Bangladeshi nationals were detained with the recovered items and handed over to officer in-charge/Government Railway Police/Alipurduar Jn. for further legal action, it stated.
