Dimapur, Jan. 10 (EMN): The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) on Tuesday resolved to appeal to the eastern Nagas to reconsider their demand of Frontier Nagaland “so that Nagas can continue to live as one entity”.

“Further divisions at this juncture will further disintegrate the already fragmented Naga family,” the CPO stated in a resolution adopted at its 41st general session held at Middle Khomi village in Phek district.

The CPO also resolved to appeal to the “Southern Angami, Mao and Maram Khullen brothers to maintain peace and tranquility in the true spirit of brotherhood and maintain our age-old traditional relationship of one family for peaceful coexistence.”

The CPO appreciated the district administration and NHIDCL for their concern and sincerity towards completing the two-lane road construction, and the villages along the highway for their cooperation in the ongoing road projects within Chakhesang jurisdiction.

The CPO further resolved to organise tree and flowering plants plantations along the highways within its jurisdiction.

Further, it reaffirmed the resolutions adopted during the 38th CPO General Session on January 10, 2020 and CPO Resolution on Chakhesang Tribe 75th Anniversary Celebration on January 10, 2021 at Phek town.

Earlier, Besesayo Kezo, former DGP Nagaland, spoke on the theme “Living in the legacy of our leaders.”

MLA Dr. Chotisuh Sazo, Vekhosa Chakhesang, president, Chakhesang Gazetted Officers’ Association (CGOA) and Timikha Koza, president, Tenyimi Peoples’ Organisation also spoke at the session.

CPO president Vezühü Keyho delivered the presidential address, it added.
