Reception Committee for 49th Karbi Youth Festival formed

Diphu, Jan. 7 (EMN): The Reception Committee (RC) for the 49th Karbi Youth Festival (KYF) was constituted in a meeting held at Taralangso in Diphu on Saturday, with the president of RC of the previous KYF, 2022, MLA Bidyasing Engleng and general secretary, Executive Member, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Richard Tokbi retaining the posts for the second consecutive time.

The meeting was chaired by the president, of Karbi Cultural Society (KCS), Chandrasing Kro.

In the meeting, it was proposed by the house that the committee members from last year’s KYF be continued with only changes in its chairmen and convenors of sub-committees.

Accordingly, it was unanimously agreed and the president of the previous RC, MLA Bidyasing; working president, Komalsing Timung and general secretary, EM, KAAC, Tokbi were retained.

Vice presidents EM, KAAC, Surjya Rongphar, Mohansing Tisso, Ashok Teron, Ramsing Tokbi, P. Dilli and former MAC, Seema Ronghangpi were retained. Assistant general secretaries are Daniel Bey, Laichan Engleng, Mirjeng Kro, Merina Beypi, Nipu Charan Dutta, Moon Ingtipi, Thong Teron and Pankaj Teron while office secretaries include Govind Terang, Longsing Rongpi, Robin Teron, Ranjan Hans, Babusing Bey and Rukasen Engleng.

The president of KCS announced the office bearers of the RC who will be part of this year’s KYF preparation.

The next RC meeting will discuss the formation of various sub-committees and the appointment of chairmen and convenors of the sub-committees, he informed.
