NVCO to observe ‘Consumer Rights Day’
Dimapur, Dec. 21 (EMN): Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) will be observing the ‘National Consumer Rights Day,’ which falls on December 24 on the theme ‘Fair digital finance.’ NVCO, in an update, stated that every year, December 24 is observed as ‘National Consumer Day’ and that the observation provides an opportunity for highlighting the importance of the consumer movement and the need to make the consumer more aware of their rights and responsibilities, particularly in the rural areas.
Nienu, PDBA condole demise of Zelre Angami
Dimapur, Dec. 21 (EMN): Leader of NPF legislature party, Kuzholuzo Nienu, has condoled the demise of Justice Zelre Angami, retired Judge of Guwahati High Court, who passed away on December 20. Nienu has described Justice Zelre Angami as refined, intelligent and courageous person who had dedicated his life for justice. While lamenting the loss, Nienu stated that his legacy would be remembered and cherished. He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace of the departed soul. In another statement, Phek District Bar Association (PDBA) has described Zelre Angami as one of the finest legal luminaries, who sacrificed his best service for the betterment of the judiciary in Nagaland. It lamented that in his demise, the Naga society has lost one of the best lawyers. PDBA has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members. Meanwhile, Dr. LK Achumi, retired district and session judge, has also condoled the demise of Zelre Angami. “From my personal and professional association with him for many years, I found him to be very simple, honest and sincere man, who was much respected by all,” Achumi said.
MTD carol procession on Dec. 23
Dimapur, Dec. 21 (EMN): Merangkongtsur Telonjem Dimapur (MTD) will be organising Christmas carol procession on December 23, in commemoration of 150 years of Christianity in Nagaland. MTD, in an update, informed that the carol will commence at 7 am from Old NST Flyover to Plaza Point and back to Old NST with special feature from Merangkong Marching Band, Dimapur.
