Dimapur, Dec. 14 (EMN): BJP karyakartas of Tesophenyu Group under 12 Tseminyu assembly constituency celebrated pre-Christmas on December 13 at GHS ground in Tesophenyu. The celebration was hosted by Levi Rengma, BJP state council member and former MLA of 12 Tseminyu AC.
Addressing the gathering, Japhet Tep, block level BJP karyakarta, mentioned that the purpose of the programme was to “strengthen the grassroots karyakartas, enhance enrolment of BJP karyakartas and further strengthen the mandal and district units of BJP under 12 Tseminyu assembly constituency, an update from the party stated.
It stated that Levi Rengma, the intending candidate, has highlighted numerous achievements initiated by the central government for the well being of the country and particularly the state of Nagaland.
Levi Rengma also expressed confidence that the BJP would storm back to power in 2024 under the visionary and dynamic leaderships of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Home minister, Amit Shah; and the party president JP Nadda. He added that BJP Nagaland unit is leaving no stone unturned to ensure success through the blessings of BJP high command at the centre as well as on the guidance and directions of the state president, Temjen Imna Along, and the deputy chief minister, Y Patton.
He, therefore, appealed to the party workers to vote for a right candidate to represent the constituency by keeping in mind the brighter prospects of BJP.
Thomas Magh, BJP state executive member, has appealed to the karyakartas and citizens of the block to support Levi Rengma in the upcoming state election.
In a related programme, Rural Development department celebrated pre-Christmas with much fun and gaiety on December 14 in the conference hall of its directorate in Kohima.
Sharing Christmas greetings, secretary of RD, Neposo Theluo, impressed upon the officers and employees to make this Christmas ‘very special’ one by allowing Jesus Christ to be born in their hearts. Stating that Christmas is the most important festival not only for Christians but for every religion, he, however, lamented that many people misunderstood the real meaning of Christmas. He further reminded the members not to miss the real meaning of Christmas.
Also speaking on the occasion, the director of RD, Liboni Humtsoe, stated that the purpose of the meeting was to exchange ideas, make decisions, share feedbacks and build team spirits.
Reminding that Christmas is a time to fill the hearts with love, joy, hope and happiness, Humtsoe further called upon all to be thankful to God for the joyous occasion.
The additional director, I Azenuo Pienyu, shared her experience on “My unforgettable Christmas,” while songs were presented by the staff of RD, Secretariat, NSRLM, MGNREGA Cell and RD Directorate.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph University (SJC) also celebrated pre-Christmas at its auditorium on December 12.
Addressing the gathering, vice-chancellor of SJU, Dr. D Gnandurai, recalled the journey of St. Joseph University in Nagaland. Appreciating the sincere efforts of all the staff of the varsity, he appealed to all the faculties to maintain humility to enable the university grow as a team, stated an update.
Also speaking on the occasion, Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, pro-chancellor and Bishop of Kohima, congratulated the university for completing six years and shared the need to impart ethical, moral and value-oriented education for the welfare of the state.
