Rescued hornbill unites with nature in Karbi Anglong

Diphu, Dec. 1 (EMN): The Karbi Anglong Mountaineering Association (KAMA) during their annual Singhason trekking released a young hornbill bird (Vo Terang in Karbi dialect), a rare species of bird found in Singhason hill to be with nature again. The hornbill was rescued by the Forest staff of Longnit Account Beat (Central Range).
The KAMA team comprising of 10 members led by Everester and president, of KAMA, Khorsing Terang and general secretary, Edward Rongchaicho, were on a three-day annual Singhason trekking from Longnit to Singhason peak
On Nov. 28, the team started from Diphu and on reaching Longnit, the Beat Officer of Longnit Account Beat (Central Range), Sarpo Engti Kathar, handed the young hornbill bird to the KAMA team to be released in Singhason hills.
The bird was handed over to the KAMA president, Terang, where the KAMA team took proper care of the bird before being released. The team on November 28 held the night at Langbirik Athoi Rongpi Ronghang village.
Terang said that KAMA is always connected with nature and the Forest Department.
