Nagaland: Training on large cardamom held in Seyochung village
Kohima, Nov. 22 (EMN): With a view to boost cardamom cultivation, a training programme on ‘Quality improvement programme on large cardamom’ was conducted in Seyochung village under Kiphire district on November 22.
The event was organised by the Spices Board Field Office, Kohima, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, government of India, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The programme emphasised on plantation, establishment, nursery management, pest and disease management, marketing and post-harvest of cardamom.
Senior agriculture demonstrator, David, and field officer, Ronald, were the resource persons in the first and second sessions respectively.
The welcome address was delivered by village council chairman, Lichothri P, wherein he acknowledged the team for their effort and coming to the village to train the farmers.
The programme was chaired by Longtili C Sangtam, general secretary of Seyochung Village Students’ Union.
