Dimapur, Nov. 14 (EMN): The ongoing sit-in staged by the ‘Department Recruited Aggrieved Nurses’ (DRAN) 2021’ entered its second phase on Monday as the state’s Health department and the agitating nurses had failed to break the impasse.

The nurses, who were recruited during the COVID-19 pandemic, have been protesting at the Secretariat in Kohima since November 9, demanding the state government to regularise their service.

The agitating nurses informed in an update that they had a meeting with the officials of the Health department headed by the secretary on Monday but it was inconclusive. They said that the department tried to convince them to sit for the NPSC exam, which they turned down and reiterated to fulfill their “legitimate right” for regularization of service.

While informing that the Angami Students’ Union officials visited them and assured all possible help, they thanked the public for their support and contributions, and also prayed that their issue is not politicised.
