Karbi Anglong: DAV English LP School commemorates Children’s Day

Diphu, Nov.14 (EMN):  Children’s Day to commemorate the birth of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was celebrated at DAV English LP School here on Monday.

To celebrate the day, the teaching and non-teaching staff together organised the celebration for the children.

A drawing and essay writing competition for children was also organised.

One of the teaching staff, Prajanya Pandey said, “Today is the birthday of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and in commemorating the day we have celebrated children’s day. We have offered floral tribute on the portrait of the first Prime Minister and also organised a drawing and essay writing competition for children.”

DAV English LP School has the highest number of enrolment of students with 400 with 10 teaching staff.

In the drawing competition for Class 2, Sarrecho Terang got first prize, Klari Terangpi second and Martha Marak third prize. For Class 3, Bida Rongpi got first prize, Ram Terang got second and Songja Bey third prize.

In the essay writing competition for Class-4, Waisong Tisso got first prize, Suresh Killing Chinthong second and Promila Rongpharpi third prize; and for Class 5, Jirsong Phangcho got first prize, Homsera Derapi second and Pirbi Timungpi third prize.

The teaching and non-teaching staff also prepared lunch for the children.
