47th Patkai Christian College sports week kicked off

Dimapur, Nov. 7 (EMN): The 47th annual sports week at Patkai Christian College kicked off on Monday at Seithekema, Chumoukedima.

Ghaspani Battalion of the Assam Rifles participated in the inaugural ceremony of the sports meet.

Presiding over the ceremony as chief guest, Maj. Gen. Vikas Lakhera, SM, IG AR (N) highlighted the potential sports talent amongst the youth and the need for them to nurture it.

He motivated the students to proactively participate in sports events while emphasising on the spirit of sportsmanship.

About 800 students and 50 staff members participated in the event, a defence release stated.  The organising committee expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for their efforts towards youth empowerment and promotion of sports amongst the youth, it added.
