Nagaland: CANSSEA team attends AISGEF meeting in Mumbai
Dimapur, Nov. 7 (EMN): A three-member team of Confederation of All Nagaland State Service Employees Association (CANSSEA) led by its president Dr. Ilang, attended the All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at Sukkur Bhavan, Mumbai on November 4 and 5.
The meeting was attended by employees’ federations of 29 state governments from all over India where the representatives participated in a marathon meeting for two consecutive days on urgent and important matters concerning employees’ welfare issues faced by its members working under various state governments, a DIPR report stated.
Considering the various issues confronting and looking at the overall plight and situation of the state government employees in the country, it was collectively decided in the NEC meeting to go on an agitation on seven-point charter of demand.
The charter of demand included regularisation of all contractual/out sourced, daily waged employees, to stop privatisation of PSUs and downsizing of government departments, to stop communalism and save secularism, and to abandon the National Education Policy.
The AISGEF also called for repeal of Article 310 & Article 311 (2) (a) (b) (c) of the Constitution and to control price rise and strengthen the Universal Public Distribution System.
In addition, other demands included asking the government to constitute the VIII Central Pay Commission, release all DA/DR and to remove all riders and restriction on compassionate employment.
Meanwhile, CANSSEA requested all its federating units to be mentally prepared and cooperate with the directives of AISGEF.
Further, all associations affiliated to CANSSEA have been directed to submit the name list of NPS subscribers to CANSSEA office latest by the November 30, it stated.
