Dimapur, Oct. 21 (EMN): Lihyeih T Konyak of Mount Mary College, Chümoukedima was crowned Miss ANCSU 2022, while Pouthailu Gonmei of Dimapur Government College and Imjungwatila Longkumer of Pranabananda Women’s College Dimapur were adjudged the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively on October 20.

The valedictory function-cum-Miss ANCSU contest was part of the ANCSU Collegiate Meet 2022 on the theme “Metamorphosis” from October 17 to the 21st at Dimapur Government College.

In the sub-title category, Miss Best Ramp Walk was secured by Konyak, Miss Congeniality to Longkumer and Best Ethnic Wear to Linokali Achumi of Patkai Christian College, which was hosted by Miss Phek 2019, Shefüvi Pfithu.

Speaking on the fourth day of ANCSU collegiate meet as valedictory guest, first class contractor and president of Nagaland Solar Contractors Union, Kyupise Sangtam said that it’s peaceful and satisfying to be surrounded by the leaders of tomorrow and witnessing the talented gathering organised by all the hard working students across the state.

Sangtam encouraged the students to take this opportunity to showcase their talents in the field of sports, music, attaining quality education and setting the goals to achieve it.

In today’s world, young people need to know how to generate new knowledge in order to meet the demands of modern day workforce by practicing professionalism, as the old school of thought cannot compete with the level of international standards, he stated.

Citing the collegiate meet theme “Metamorphosis”, Sangtam iterated that the theme is perfect for today’s youth to transform their already corrupted society by transforming themselves first. Not all the storms come to destroy, some come to clear your path, he added.

Sangtam maintained that beauty pageant is not just about beauty but that it is more about the service to humanity combined with manners, characters and discipline, while stating that roses can never be marigold  and marigold can never be roses.

He also urged the students to remember the three Cs — commitment, character and competence — in their daily life.

During the valedictory programme, special number was performed by Pfutsero Government College and special presentation by Patkai Christian College, while words of gratitude were delivered by General Secretary of ANCSU, Tenyesinlo Bukh.

Prizes were also distributed for the different categories, where Dimapur Government College emerged as the overall champion of ANCSU Collegiate Meet 2022.
