Nagaland: PRA on Jal Jeevan Mission held in Seluophe village
Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): A participatory rural appraisal (PRA) on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) was held in Seluophe village under Dhansiripar block of Dimapur district on October 18.
An updated informed that the programme was organised by PHED (Rural), Dimapur division, in collaboration with Act of Kindness Society, the implementation and support agency (ISA).
The PRA was based on focused group discussion, water resource mapping and data collection through questionnaires, it informed.
Roles and responsibilities of WATSAN, record maintenance sustainability and O&M of water supply systems, 5% community contribution on capital cost in cash/ kind or labour, water quality testing by field testing kit (FTK) users in the village, fund convergence for water and sanitation, importance of rainwater harvesting, water source protection measures, creation of recharge structures, grey water management guidelines of JJM, were also discussed by the visiting ISA team including junior engineer of PHED Dhansiripar block, Hotolu Sumi; district coordinator of DWSM, PHED, Imojungla Longkumer; and IEC consultant of PHED (Rural) Dimapur division, Vibou Seyie, followed by interactive sessions.
The participants comprised of village council chairmen and members, head GBs, GBs, WATSAN, SHGs, youth leaders and other key persons in the village.
