Dimapur, Oct. 3 (EMN): The state department of Tourism observed United Nations World Tourism Day at Noklak on September 27 with the theme ‘Rethinking tourism,’ alongwith the Noklak district administration, Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA), Nagaland Association of Tour Operators (NATO) and Nagaland Adventure and Mountaineering Education (NAAME).
An update informed that homestay training was also conducted on September 26 with food entrepreneur Alemjungla Jamir as resource person. The joint team also explored Pio-Ling-Kaa cave at Chipur (Thsoiphu) village.
The NAAME team also undertook an expedition to Mount Khelia Kingniu, considered to be the second highest peak in Nagaland at an altitude of 3426 m above sea level, at Choklangan in Noklak district.
On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the state department of Tourism along with the district administration also launched the ‘State-level best rural tourism village competition,’ it stated.
