Dimapur, Sep. 24 (EMN): Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) celebrated its achievement in the certificate renewal of National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Healthcare Providers (NABH) on September 20.
“NABH ensures safe quality service not only to patients but also protects the hospitals from unforeseen risks, litigations and helps in guiding management in their journey towards organisational excellence,” CIHSR stated in an update.
Accreditation standards for hospitals were developed in 2006 in India giving birth to NABH through Quality Council of India.
“The CIHSR is one amongst the few hospitals in the Northeast to have achieved this feat as many hospitals in the country are unable to meet the many challenges and difficulties in implementing all the standards,” it stated.
The quality manager of CIHSR, Pelezoto Pius Kikhi, acknowledged all staff for their cooperation and support in the achievement of NABH pre-accreditation entry level certification in the year 2020 and its successful renewal this year.
Kikhi also stated that in the near future, NABH certification might become mandatory for all hospitals in the country to ensure quality care and service.
The medical superintendent of CIHSR, Dr. Clement Momin, gave an overview of what CIHSR had “achieved so far in its NABH journey and the future the Institute is headed with quality culture initiated at all levels in the Institute.”
