IMD predicts widespread rainfall in various states including Nagaland and Northeast

Kohima, Sep. 23 (EMN): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that several parts of India, including Nagaland will receive rain in a next few days.
In an update, the IMD informed that north-eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will receive rain on September 23 and 24, while rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh from September 23 to the 25th.
Fairly widespread, widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorm or lightning is very likely in the Northeast India in the next couple of days, said the update, adding that the significant weather features highlighted a cyclonic circulation over northwest Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood and extends up to middle tropospheric levels.
There is a trough runs from cyclonic circulation over northwest Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood to Northwest Bay of Bengal in lower tropospheric levels, according to the IMD.
It went on to state that there a fresh Western Disturbance as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies runs roughly along Long. 65°E to the north of Lat. 30°N, resulting in the weather forecast- spells of rain in various parts of the country.
Further, it forecast that fairly widespread, widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm or lightning very likely over Uttarakhand during September 23-26; Himachal Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh during September 23-25; Haryana, Chandigarh and East Rajasthan on 23rd and the 24th; East Uttar Pradesh on the 25th and Delhi and West Madhya Pradesh on the 23rd.
Isolated or very heavy rainfall is likely over Uttarakhand during September 23-25; Haryana and East Rajasthan on the 23rd and West Uttar Pradesh on the 24th, said the update.
A fairly widespread, widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm or lightning is also very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during September 23-25; Andaman & Nicobar Islands on the 23rd; Bihar on the 24th and the 25th; and Odisha on the 27th.
