Dimapur, Sep. 17 (EMN): Maintaining that schools in Nagaland are doing exceptionally well at par with other states in literacy, the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, has encouraged the students to explore other means of employment avenues for self-sustenance rather than relying on government jobs.

Sachin stated this during an ‘Educational Fest’ organised by the Pilgrim Higher Secondary School at Kuda Village ‘B’ Khel in Dimapur on September 17. The event was organised with the motive to educate children exclusively and promote awareness pertaining to career.

Admitting that many students yearned for a government job after their studies, Jaiswal advised the students to venture on entrepreurship in order to be self-reliant.

“Parents are your well-wishers and they will always have the feeling that you excel in whatever you do and they will counsel you but do not take it as a restriction or that should not be a limiting factor for you but take it as a guiding factor for you,” he advised.

He further encouraged the students to have an open mind in choosing their career rather following their friends and parents saying, “You are the best judge of yourself.”

“In our society we always talk about unemployment and it is a chronic things,” he said while reiterating that Nagaland is the state with the maximum number of government employees.

He also encouraged the students to think with an open mind saying there is no big or small job if only one work with honesty.

The principal of Pilgrim School, Kaini Khekho Kikon, informed that the eight schools participating in the fest from Dimapur included Pilgrim Higher Secondary School, Eden Higher Secondary School, Greenwood Higher Secondary School, St, Peter’s School, Rich Mount School, Government Middle School Kuda ‘B,’ St. Theresa’s School, and Riverbelt School, Dimapur.

The resource persons included members from Naga tools, colleges and university, fashion designing, music, hospitality, banks, theological seminary, Indian army, entrepreneurs, Indian Air Force, Sports, and Medical.
