Diphu, Aug. 23 (EMN): A herd of wild elephants on August 22 damaged five houses at Kachari village and Nepali Basti in Kheroni, West Karbi Anglong district.

Sources said that it was around 11 pm, when wild elephants entered the said villages and damaged four houses at Kachari village and one house at Nepali village.

Though no casualties were reported in the men-elephant conflict, the villagers are reportedly in a tense state as the jumbos are still said to be roaming around the villages for the past four days.
