Dimapur, Aug. 14 (EMN): As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Dimapur Bongs, in collaboration with the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), organised a Tiranga rally in Dimapur on Sunday morning.
The massive really with a 575 feet-long Indian national flag culminated at Clock Tower after it was flagged-off by H Tovihoto Ayemi, MLA and advisor of Power department, and Sachin Jaiswal, deputy commissioner of Dimapur at Misti Mukh junction.
Delivering a short speech, Tovihoto lauded the Dimapur Bongs and the DMC for organising such a memorable event to commemorate the occasion. He said Dimapur along with the rest of the country have done exceedingly well in implementing the ‘Ha Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and various other activities to commemorate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He invited all the public of Dimapur to come and participate in the Independence Day celebration at DDSC Stadium, Dimapur, on Monday morning.
The DC Dimapur, DMC administrator, and officials from the paramilitary forces also spoke on the occasion. More than a thousand people from different walks of life participated in the rally.
