Dimapur, Aug. 13 (EMN): A free medical aid and awareness programme was held at Raigailong Council Hall, Dimapur, on Saturday in commemoration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The programme was organised by the Regional Ayurveda Research Centre (RARC) in collaboration with CAN Youth under the aegis of Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Ministry of Ayush.
Dr. Vikas Gangurde, research officer in-charge of RARC, said they have conducted many campaigns at various areas, villages and schools, and they aim to not only give medicines but also give awareness about immunity boost.
He said that under this Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Ministry of Ayush, has targeted about 75 lakh persons all over India and for Nagaland, about 50,000 persons were targeted.
He informed that they started conducting camps since September 2021 in the state and till date, they have distributed about 49,500 medicines, as well as organised various programme to boost immunity.
He opined that, with little changes in lifestyle, many health issues can be prevented among the people so they focus on giving awareness and not only treating them.
He said that this is the last campaign but would continue to campaign once or twice a month in different areas where people are not aware of their services. He thus requested everyone to take opportunity and not only take the medicines but take some basic concepts or formulas of medicines as well.
