Dimapur, July 25 (EMN): The Dimapur District Basketball Association (DDBA) held its annual general meeting-cum-election at Hotel Saramati on July 24.
Lipok Pongen, Vice-President NBA and Adviser DDBA, was invited to be the observer for the elections. Sentiningsang Longkumer was elected as its new president for the next four years. Vitoto Chishi and Imchenchang Imchen were elected as vice-presidents; Yudang Ao and Tiameren Amri were elected as General Secretary and Technical Director respectively, while Harjinder Singh Ahluwalia and Sentitoshi Walling were retained as treasurer and finance secretary, an update stated.
It stated that DDBA will conduct the 3×3 MS Ahluwalia Memorial Tournament in September. The tournament will be open for teams from the entire northeast. Moreover, DDBA plans to organise the Dimapur District Inter-School Basketball tournament in October. In order to further develop the game, DDBA will organise its first referee clinic in the first week of October with a view to send the selected referees for the B-Level referee exam during nationals, it informed.
In view of the forthcoming Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games in August, the selection trials for both men and women in Dimapur district will be held on August 3 at JV Foundation Basketball Court in Signal Angami from 5pm onwards.
