Kohima, July 15 (EMN): The Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) is gearing up to participate in the forthcoming 2nd edition of the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022 to be held from August 22 to 27.
A meeting in this regard was held at Hotel Ura near Red Cross Building, Kohima, on Friday, informed an update from PDSA.
The meeting attended by the various affiliated associations, also decided to conduct preparatory camp ahead of the event which will be held at Pfutsero.
PDSA president, Nezosa Tetseo, urged the various sports associations seeking affiliation to set up grassroots teams for the 13 areas under PDSA jurisdiction in order to have greater participation in the future PDSA meets.
He also asked the associations to conduct open tournaments for trials and selections of players to represent the district in various disciplines.
He also announced that archery will be introduced from the next PDSA meet although at present there only two areas- Chokri Area and Chozuba Area playing this sport. However, coaching camps will be held under the aegis of the district archery association and in this regard he requested leaders of the various to get in touch with the association for coaching of the players.
During the meeting presided by PDSA general secretary, Solomon Ritse, representatives of various associations also shared and updated on preparations for the Nagaland Olympic.
