Imphal, July 13 (EMN): Overnight camping followed by long queues in the morning has become a common sight in front of government run higher secondary schools for the admission of class 11 students since the last two, three days in Imphal.

On Tuesday, a crowd was seen in front of Tamphasana Girls’ Higher Secondary School and CC Higher Secondary School in Imphal. Ahead of government schools, popular private schools in Imphal were packed with students who cleared the class 10 examinations with more than 80% to 90% for admission.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, on Tuesday said that the School Fagathansi Mission (SFM), a government initiative to give renewed thrust towards the improvement of government schools in terms of physical and manpower infrastructure, started bearing fruits as government schools recorded a high pass percentage of 60.40% in the recently declared class 10 examination result.

A total of 8306 students from government schools appeared for the HSLC Examination 2022, out of which, 5022 students cleared the examination, the press release from the CM secretariat said.

It is worth mentioning that 43 government schools passed with 100 percent. Further, all the specially-abled students of Government Ideal Blind School and Government Deaf and Mute School, Takyel had cleared the same.
