Suspected human trafficker detained in Nagaland; 4 persons including 2 minor girls rescued
Dimapur, July 11 (EMN): During its routine checking as part of the drive against human trafficking, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) rescued four persons – two females and two minor girls – from different railway stations in the region on July 8.
An update from the chief public relations officer of NF Railway informed on Monday that an RPF team of Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Dimapur conducted a search operation at Dimapur railway station based on a tip-off and apprehended one suspected human trafficker along with two women.
“The rescued females were later handed over to Women Police of Dimapur under Government of Nagaland, for necessary action,” read the update.
It went on to say that the RPF escorting team rescued two runaway minor girls from Rangiya-Dibrugarh Express and Rajdhani Express, during their routine checking on the same day.
The girl rescued from Rangiya-Dibrugarh Express was handed over to Childline, Dibrugarh and the one from Rajdhani Express was handed over to GRP, Mariani post, who further handed over the child to her mother, updated the NF Railway.
