NCA Women’s Trophy: Chathe XI to take on Doyang XI in final today

Dimapur, July 4 (EMN): The final of the ongoing Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) Women’s Champion’s Trophy 2022 will see Chathe XI take on Doyang XI at Sovima Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

In a do-or-die clash between Doyang XI and Milak XI for a place in the final, which boiled down to the final over, a quick stumping by the wicketkeeper ensured that Doyang XI won the final league match by one run.

Doyang XI won the toss and decided to bat first, scoring 83 runs with a loss of six wickets in 20 overs, while Milak XI, chasing the target, fell short of one run and was all out in 82 runs off 19.1 overs.

Ritu Karmakar of Milak XI nearly pulled off a win for the team scoring 41 runs off 58 balls but the team kept losing wickets at regular intervals and without much support from the other end, she could not save the match.

Alemienla of Doyang XI was declared the MVP of the match for scoring 36 runs off 49 balls.

Meanwhile in the second match, Zungki XI defeated Tizu XI by one wicket. Tizu XI won the toss and opted to bat first, scoring a total of 84 runs with a loss of four wickets in 20 overs, while Zungki XI managed to chase down the target in 16.2 overs with a loss of nine wickets.

Limatola Ao of Zungki XI was declared the MVP of the match.

In the third match of the day, Dikhu XI defeated Dzuza XI by 50 runs. Dikhu XI opted to bat first after winning the toss and scored a total of144 runs with a loss of four wickets in 18 overs. Chasing the target of 144 runs, Dzuza XI could only manage to score 94 runs with a loss of four wickets in 18 overs.
