Organisations felicitate HSLC, HSSLC toppers

Kohima/ Dimapur, June 18 (EMN): Various organisations in Nagaland have felicitated successful HSLC and HSSLC toppers, which was recently declared by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE). The toppers were conferred with cash prizes and citations.

ASU/AWO: Angami Students’ Union (ASU) and Angami Women Organisation (AWO) felicitated the recently declared Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) HSLC and HSSLC toppers from the Angami community during a programme held at the conference hall of AWO Building in Kohima on Saturday.

Inspector General of Fire and Emergency Services and president of Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (AGOK), Dr. Neilasa Sopfü, who graced the occasion as the speaker, commended the successful students on their achievement. Attributing the achievements to their sheer hard work, he encouraged them to continue working hard to fetch greater success in life.

Sopfü announced that the Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (AGOK) is all set to constitute the Angami Education Trust to facilitate the students to excel in the field of education. In this regard, he informed that the Trust will support the students especially from lower family backgrounds in the form of sponsorship for coaching classes.

AWO general secretary, Chozhüle Kikhi, conveyed greetings and exhorted the students to work hard in order to excel and prosper, while the welcome address was delivered by Bisevi Nakhro and Neilhouzono Nagi, AWO president, read a scripture and also offered a prayer.

Prayer for the toppers was offered by Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo, pastor of Union Baptist Church (UBC), while Thejasenuo Kire and Nourhengunuo Zatsu presented a special song.

On the occasion, 13 toppers including six from HSLC and seven from HSSLC were felicitated.

CSU: Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has felicitated HSLC and HSSLC toppers and subject toppers during a programme held at Red Cross Conference Hall in Kohima on June 18.

The special guest and commandant of 10th NAP (IR) at Zhadima, Vekhosa Kotso, congratulated the students and encouraged them to work for success in a competitive world with multiple choices.

While reminding that success at HSLC and HSSLC examination was not the final, he encouraged the students to be focused with discipline and determination to achieve success in life. He also urged the students to do away with the mentality of backward tribe tag and strive by making the right choice to excel in life.

He further stressed on the importance of speaking one’s mother tongue and passing it down to the younger generations.

Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, senior pastor of Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers Hill Kohima, has advised the students to be proud of their identity and go back to their roots and upkeep their identities. He exhorted the students to excel and give back to the society and the community.

Avezo Kevin Kapuh, CSU president, delivered the welcome address, while speech on behalf of toppers was delivered by Novelu Swuro, HSSLC 2 topper in Science.

ANTA Mokokchung: Mokokchung unit of the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) felicitated the HSLC and HSSLC topper of children from among its members during a programme held at Mokokchung town on June 18.

Felicitating the toppers, the unit president, K Tongpang, expressed happiness on their achievement. He has attributed their success to sheer determination, persistence and hard work and putting God first.

He advised the students to be consistent in their studies, stating hard work would bear fruits at the end.

“Be humble, put God first, strive harder, don’t derail from your goal,” he urged the students.

Speeches were also delivered by presidents of Pick-up Union, Bus union and Truck Union.

On the occasion, Tsuwunaro Jamir, HSLC 20 topper, was felicitated with cash of INR 10, 000 and citation, while the first division holders were awarded with INR 5000 and citation.
