Koiwang ward in Aboi wins cleanest award

Dimapur, June 8 (EMN): Koiwang ward in Aboi town under Mon district won the cleanest award during a programme held at town hall on June 7, while the second and third places were won by Aboiwang ward and Hahnyan ward respectively.

The wards were awarded for the period between June 2021 and March 2022.

Speaking on the occasion, the additional deputy commissioner of Aboi, Chumlamo Humtsoe, informed that the same event for April 2022 to March 2023 has already begun. He, therefore, sought public support and cooperation for the event, a DIPR report stated.

Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, who stated that cleanliness is more important than independence, Humtsoe encouraged the gathering to take sanitation and cleanliness as their main priority. He also appreciated the ward leaders, government departments, Konyak Union Aboi, and different civil societies for their contribution and cooperation throughout the programme.

He further informed that those programmes were held for the benefit of the public adding that through such programmes, Aboi town has become cleaner. He expressed hope that Aboi town would be an example of cleanliness to others.

EAC of Longching, Dr. Cthitu Neinu, delivered the welcome address and gave a brief report on the various activities and the criteria to be upheld in the competition.

Short speeches were delivered by the president of Konyak Union Aboi town, president of KNSK, and Noksen Aboiyang ward president. They commended the works undertaken by the ADC and remarked that the town has become better in so many ways not only in cleanliness but developmental activities during his short tenure.

Meanwhile, public of Aboi bade farewell to its outgoing ADC, Chumlamo Humtsoe, during a programme held on June 8 at the ADC’s conference hall.

The programme was attended by head of offices, church leaders, representatives from NGO, GB, ward and public leaders, and well-wishers from various sections of the society.

The civil societies led by the KNSK felicitated the outgoing ADC for his immense contribution towards the development of Aboi town as well as the Aboi subdivision and wished him the best for his future endeavors.

Meanwhile, Humtsoe thanked the gathering for their kind words and encouraged them to continue with the same support to the administration and various departments for the greater good.
