Kohima, June 2 (EMN): Kohima unit of the All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) on Thursday felicitated a total of 26 toppers from Kohima, the results of which were declared by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) on May 31.

The felicitation programme for the 26 toppers including 12 from High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and 14 from Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) from different schools in Kohima was held at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Ziekezou, with the advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire as the special guest.

Congratulating the toppers and successful candidates, the advisor encouraged the students to go to college/ higher studies with a purpose and pursue their dream.

“If one pursues what they want to become, then they will become successful. Find your place in the right field and do something that is of your interest and you will shine,” he told a host of students.

He pointed out that many young boys and girls join college just because their friends do and end up getting lost as to what to do next in life after finishing their master’s degree. He stated that attitude has to be changed and give it a thought whether they really want to be in the same field as their friend.

Dr. Kire also challenged the students to follow the three Ds – dedication, determination, and devotion. He further advised them not to expect instant results as things take time but to work hard to become somebody in life.

Speaking on behalf of the toppers, Vitshunuo Alvina Dzuvichu, HSLC top-3 from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, stated that she always strived for competition since childhood. Dzuvichu added that she used to analyse her mistakes and refrain from repeating them. She added that success is not accidental but God’s grace coupled with hard work and dedication.

President of ANPSA Kohima unit, Zhopota Rhakho, informed that some well-wishers and institutions under the association came forward to sponsor the toppers voluntarily. The 26 toppers were awarded with cash and citation.
