Kohima Super Cup: Aphuyemi FC thrash Naga Brothers FC 21-0

Kohima, May 20 (EMN): On day-five of the ongoing 4th Kohima Super Cup 2022 at Indira Gandhi Stadium (IGS) Kohima, Aphuyemi FC thrashed Naga Brothers FC by a 21-0 goal margin, while Magdaline Coaching FC (MCFC) also defeated Pro-D-OG’s FC 5-3 to secure their respective berth in the quarter-final.

Playing the first match, forward Nosal Pucho scored for MCFC in the 16th minute, followed by Dupisa Pucho in the 25th minute. Pro-D-OG’s FC’s Nupusizo also scored a goal for the team to end the first half.

Returning from the break, Dupisa Pucho scored in the 46th and 49th minute and recorded a hat-trick following which, Nosal Pucho added another goal in the 50th minute.

Despite their efforts, Pro-D-OG’s FC couldn’t beat MCFC though Chenio helped the team with two goals in the 65th and 75th minute. The game ended 5-3 in favour of MCFC.

In the second match, Naga Brothers FC were thrashed by Aphuyemi FC with a score line of 21-0.

For the winners, the campaign started from the third minute by Peter, who added another one in the 14th minute. Vinoka Sumi contributed a goal in the 8th minute, while his team mate Lironthung Lotha scored a hat-trick in the 18th, 33rd and 65th minute.

The highest scorer for the match was Toka Achumi with nine goals.

Interestingly, 14-year-old Vinato Achumi, who happens to be the youngest player in the tournament, achieved a feat by scoring a hat-trick.

For Aphuyemi FC, three African players — Christian, Peter Essien and Richard from Ghana — are in the squad. While Peter scored two goals, Christian and Richard also scored a goal each for their team.

Quarter-finals from today

Meanwhile, the quarter-finals will start from today (May 21) wherein, New Market FC will take on Hurricane Boys Phesema at 11:30 am followed by Sechu FC Academy vs. G-Sports FC at 1:30 pm.
