Nagaland records 77806 post-matric scholarship beneficiaries

Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a total of 77806 post-matric scholarship student beneficiaries in the year 2021-22 and a total amount of INR 27.99 crore was spent for payment of the same.
Post matric scholarship for minorities was announced in June 2006, where students belonging to notified minority communities studying in India only and fulfilling the scheme guidelines are eligible to apply.
According to an update from CM’s dashboard, out of the total 77806 students beneficiaries in the state, 38,430 are male students, 39,369 female students and 14 are transgender students.
Dimapur district recorded the highest number of male and female student beneficiaries and Mon district recorded the highest number of transgender student beneficiaries, where out a total of 14, six were reported from Mon in 2021-22.
District wise distribution showed that in Dimapur, there are 20651 (INR 8.13 crore) student beneficiaries, while in Kohima there are 10,001 (INR 3.51 crore) student beneficiaries. It was followed with 6,792 (INR 2.96) in Mokokchung, 11,175 (INR 3.51 crore) in Mon, 5,421 (INR 1.75 crore) in Phek, 7,768 (INR 2.68 crore) in Tuensang, 3,770 (INR 1.38 crore) in Wokha, 3,596 (INR 1.31 crore) in Zunheboto, 3,264 (INR 1.04 crore) in Peren, 3,025 (INR 1.05 crore) in Kiphire, 2,343 (INR 0.67 crore) student beneficiaries in Longleng.
