Says no unit objected when resolution was adopted
Dimapur, April 17 (EMN): Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on Saturday rebutted the statement of Nagaland In-Service Doctors’ Association (NIDA) claiming that some student bodies did not align with NSF’s stating that it is “completely misleading”.
NSF in a joint statement with Nagaland-based federating units comprising Ao Students Conference (AKM), Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU), Lotha Students’ Union (LSU), All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK), Rengma Students’ Union (RSU), Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) and Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN), reiterated that during an emergency presidential council meeting held on April 11, the house resolved to recommend the state government to maintain status quo with regard to the superannuation age of medical doctors in the state.
It stated that there was no objection raised by any of the units when the resolution was adopted during the meeting.
“We are compelled to publicly reaffirm the same due to such malicious claims,” it read.
NSF also appealed to the Angami Students’ Union to reconsider their decision in the larger interest of the Naga people.
ENSF clarifies stand on superannuation issue
Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) on Saturday clarified its stand on the superannuation issue between the Nagaland In-Service Doctors’ Association (NIDA) and the state government.
While it acknowledged the demand of NIDA, ENSF however stated that if there is shortage of doctors to deliver health care services, ‘the government may consider re-appointment of retired doctors for a period of two years for hospitals but not for administrative posts’.
The Federation also appealed to the state government to carry out appointment of doctors through the Nagaland Public Service Commission to fill the existing vacancies and to hasten functioning of the medical colleges at Kohima and Mon.
