Diphu, Feb. 26 (EMN): In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old man was murdered at Manipuri Basti, Hidim Teron village under Manja police station in Karbi Anglong on Wednesday night.
According to police information, the man identified as Monidhan Meitei was approached by a youth, for a cigarette. In response, Meitei slapped the youth, it was informed.
Later, the youth along with his friends abducted Meitei and took him inside a rubber plantation on Wednesday evening.
The deceased was a watchman of the rubber plantation.
Following the murder, five youths, including a minor was arrested.
The arrested have been identified as Sontosh Sing Taro (20) of Chenat Bey village under Manja police station; Sanjit Teron (25), Solit Enghi (20) and Palty Gorh (18), all residents of Hidim Teron village, under Manja police station and a minor, whose name has not been released.
A case has been registered against the accused.
