Dimapur, Feb. 21 (EMN): Wokha division of Health and Family Welfare department conducted a reproductive child health (RPH) camp at Merapani Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) on February 18.
Speaking at the programme, the chief medical officer (CMO) of Wokha, Dr. Tumchobeni, informed that RCH camp was organised especially for those who lack access to healthcare services in hospitals. She lauded the village council for mobilising the beneficiaries and also stressed on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and timely medical treatment for any ailment, an update from CMO’s office stated.
It stated that chairman of Merapani village council, Nyamo Odyuo, has thanked the medical team and encouraged the residents to avail the free healthcare services.
Report stated that the deputy chief medical officer of Wokha, Dr. Zuben Kikon, along with medical officers from Bhandari community health centre and community health officer from Merapani HWC have administered medical check-ups to more than hundred beneficiaries and provided medicines free of cost.
It added that information, education and communication materials on non-communicable disease, anaemia and immunisation were also distributed. Red blood sugar test, HIV test, blood pressure, family planning counseling, copper T insertion, Covid-19 vaccination etc., were some of the services provided during the camp, it added.
