Dimapur, Jan. 19 (EMN): The 7th edition of the Saptiqa Area Sports Association (SASA) tournament on the motto ‘encouraging youngsters’ commenced at Usütomi village on Wednesday.
Chief guest of the opening ceremony, Picto Shohe, MLA, expressed his gratitude to SASA for inviting him to the tournament and highlighted the life testimony of Dr. T Ao and encouraged all the players to emulate him, be well disciplined, physically and spiritually, a press release informed.
Ayito P Shohe, president of SASA, encouraged all the players to be disciplined and show a true spirit of sportsmanship.
The programme was chaired by Aboka Awomi, asst. general secretary of SASA, while the welcome address was shared by Kashiho Shohe, chairman of Usütomi village, it said.
The event will culminate on Jan. 22 with Amrito Achiki, president of Dimapur District Motor Parts Dealer Association as the guest of honour.
