Dimapur, Jan. 5 (EMN): Dimapur district Excise personnel manning the Excise check gate at Dillai intercepted a truck bearing registration No. NL01 AC 6691 and recovered 400 cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) concealed along with cement bags on January 4.
The superintendent of Excise, T Arilong Longkumer, informed that one person identified as Parshu Sahu (27), resident of Kohora village under Bokahat police station in Golaghat district, Assam, was arrested in the connection and booked under the relevant section of the NLTP Act ’89.
On preliminary inquiry, it was established that the liquor was loaded in Jorabat and was destined for Senapati in Manipur. Longkumer added that the case is currently under investigation and the seized materials have been deposited at the Excise malkhana for destruction.
