Nagaland records 3 new Covid-19 cases, 7 recoveries

Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): Nagaland recorded three fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the tally to 32,126 while active caseload declined to 106 following the recovery of seven patients.

The state’s total recoveries have increased to 30,275 while the death toll remained unchanged at 683 with no fresh fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.

An update from the state’s department of Health and Family Welfare informed that two cases were reported in Kohima and one in Dimapur.

Out of the 106 active cases, 87 are asymptomatic, 14 mild, three severe on oxygen and two in ICU on ventilator.

In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, 81 are in Dimapur, 14 in Kohima, seven in Mokokchung, and four in Kiphire, while the rest of the districts are Covid-free.

India logs 8503 new cases

India reported 8,503 coronavirus infections on Friday, taking the country’s Covid tally to 3,46,74,744, while the active cases increased to 94,943, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

The death toll climbed to 4,74,735 after 624 fresh fatalities were reported, it stated.

The recovery of 7,678 patients in the last 24 hours has pushed the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,41,05,066, it said.

As many as 131.18 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under nationwide vaccination drive.
