Nagaland records 9 new Covid-19 cases, 3 deaths

Nagaland registered nine new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, pushing the tally to 31,960 while the active caseload declined to 172 following recovery of 12 patients.

The number of deaths in the state has increased to 676 with three fatalities reported in the last 24 hours and the comulative recoveries rose to 30,047.

An update from the department of Health and Family Welfare informed that six fresh Covid cases were reported in Dimapur, two in Mokokchung and one in Kohima, while seven patient in Dimapur and five in Kohima recovered.

Out of the active cases, 142 are asymptomatic, 18 mild, five moderate on oxygen, four severe on oxygen and three in ICU on ventilator.

In terms of distribution of cases, 91 are in Dimapur, 29 inMokokchung, 26 in Kohima, six each in Kiphire and Wokha, four each in Mon and Tuensang, three in Phek, two in Peren and one in Zunheboto, while Longleng is currently Covid-free.

India logs 11466 fresh cases

India recorded a single-day rise of 11,466 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the country’s tally of infections to 3,43,88,579, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

It said the death toll climbed to 4,61,849, with 460 fatalities.

The active cases declined to 1,39,683 with the recovery of 11,961 patients in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s cumulative recoveries have increased to 3,37,87,047 at 98.25% recovery rate.

Moreover, with the administration of 52,69,137 vaccine doses, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 109.63 crore (1,09,63,59,208).
