Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development (Sasrd), NU Medziphema campus, celebrated its 44th foundation day-cum-alumni Meet on October 20, which was held both offline as well as through webinar.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Watila Jamir, treasurer of Alumni Association of SASRD, and the welcome address was delivered by the dean of NU: SASRD, while the foundation day speech was delivered by Prof. Alemla Ao, pro-vice-chancellor of Medziphema campus.
An update from Sasrd informed that Prof. Alemla Ao also gave away the alumni awards 2021 under different categories, which was presided over by Prof. L Tongpang Longkumer, president of the Alumni Association of SASRD.
The “Alumni Award for Academic Excellence” sponsored by AASASRD consisted of a cash award of INR 20,000 and certificate was awarded to the B.Sc (Hons.) Agri. topper Achano K Ezung, “Peri Om Pun Excellence Award” sponsored by Dr. Umed Pun for the topper in B.Sc (Hons.) Agri. Ist year was presented to Rinky Basfore, “R2 Seeds Excellence Award” sponsored by C Narayana Rao for the topper in B.Sc (Hons.) Agri. IInd year was presented to Ajano Thorie, and “Lt. Cherish Ch. Marak Excellence Award” sponsored by Thera Ch Marak for the topper in B.Sc (Hons.) Agri. IIIrd year was presented to Sukanya Bej.
All the above awards carried a cash amount of INR 10,000 along with a certificate.
