Assam celebrates World Tourism Day

Tourism department, govt. of Assam celebrated World Tourism Day at Srimanta Sankardeva International Auditorium, Kalakshetra, Panjabari (Guwahati) on Monday.

Minister of Tourism, Sports and Youth Welfare, Cultural Affairs and Power, Bimal Borah was the chief guest while the executive member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council represented the council.

An exhibition stall was organised to display the tourism spots of various districts. The Tourism department, KAAC also put up exhibition stalls displaying the rich cultural heritage, traditional costumes of various ethnic communities and tourist destinations of Karbi Anglong. Traditional dances from Karbi Anglong were also performed.

EM Teron submitted a memorandum to the Tourism minister, Borah for the need for development of tourism in the two hill districts of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong.
