Nagaland reports 34 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death

Dimapur, Sep. 25 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 34 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, taking the tally to 31,119 and active caseload to 465.

The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 29,014 with 34 more patients having recuperated in the last 24 hours. The death toll stands at 647 with one death reported in the last 24 hours.

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 26 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, six in Kohima, and two in Mokokchung.

Of the 34 new recoveries, 30 were in Dimapur, three in Mokokchung and one in Kohima.

Nagaland currently has 465 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 365 are asymptomatic, 80 mild, five moderate on oxygen, eight severe on oxygen, five in ICU without ventilator, and two in ICU ventilator.

With regard to the district-wise distribution of Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has the highest number of positive cases with 228 active cases, followed by Kohima with 100, 45 in Mokokchung, 38 in Tuensang, 19 in Phek, 13 in Wokha, 11 in Kiphire, five in Longleng, four in Peren, two in Zunheboto, while Mon is currently Covid-free.

India reports 29k new cases

India reported 29,616 new coronavirus infections on Saturday, taking the total tally of cases to 3,36,24,419, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

It said the death toll climbed to 4,46,658 with 290 fresh fatalities.

Meanwhile, 28,046 patients recovered in the last 24 hours increasing the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,28,76,319.

It said the active cases rose by 1,280 to reach 3,01,442 on Sunday.

It stated that with the administration of 71,04,051 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 84.89 crore (84,89,29,160) .
